tell me please...

Why we are hip deep in corpses in a war we didn't need to be in, and Hati is asking for help and we won't go.

Re: fuckers
Yeah, and the crusades were about spreading god's word and the message of peace and love not conquering the infadels for king and country. It just pisses me off that they feel the need to candy coat everything with a nice shiny wrapper instead of just saying, "Yeah, we bombed them to hell so I can make a few more dollars and to protect America's oil interests so we can prolong our extravagant way of life" I hate politics. It seems to all be about convincing people to do what you want by misleading them and telling them what they want to hear.

i agree
my question was phrased in the hope that someone _could_ actually defeat my cynical outlook on the issue =/

no more international meddling
dude, we went to haiti already, and they didn't want us there, and they killed our boys, so we left. while i'm not a fan of our prolonged presence in iraq, quite frankly, i don't think we should be attending to other ppl's problems in the global sphere. let haiti sort itself out--or let the UN peacekeepers go in and deal with it.

we [americans] always get so much shit for interfering with other ppl's domestic affairs, but at the time same, we get shit when we don't interfere. i see no reason why we should be sending our boys overseas to meddle in other country's problems, as they never actually want us there, and our boys keep on getting killed. who died and made us the world's policemen?

so, you ask why we aren't be in haiti--i respond, why should we?

sacrasm NEQ liberalism
i agree - i don;'t think we should be _anywhere_. cutting millitary/defense spending in half, and using that money to address internal problems, insteand of global-trade building is what we should be doing. shit, we won't/can't provide troops with flackjackets, or kids with educational bills...why does noone see the problem.

yes, we went to hati, but we went to police when it was not asked for - now we are being asked for help, and we are too busy spending deficit dollars across other far-flung regions of the globe to bother.

my purpose in the question was to underline the crass twofaced bullshit the executive branch has been trumping since 9/11 - they basic ally spent billions of dollars and hundreds of lives on a cat in a tree, and now that there is a real emergency, they "don't want to get involved".

I think we should be sending troops where the UN says we should be - that is the whole fucking point of the UN.

ps. i'm not a liberal
i appreciate your underlining, as i think it's important that ppl are aware of it; however, i disagree that we should be sending troops anywhere anymore. enough of these police actions: what, we didn't learn from vietnam, korea, and everywhere else we sent troops that weren't wanted?

i'm also glad that we're finally putting a halt on yon deficit-dollar spending. we once previously had a conversation about my tax dollars--while, now, my tax bracket is that of a student, for years i was paying the same amount of taxes that daddy was paying. they took almost ALL of my money, bc the taxes were so high. and yes, while now i'm not paying much in taxes at all, my father is still paying through the nose. and why should he be paying taxes for yet another police action he's not interested in?

finally, while now you want us to send troops to haiti, your tune will change in a few months/years. then you'll be saying we should get out of haiti, we've overstayed our welcome. and, you'll be right--but it's never as simple as that. it's always more difficult to get out than it is to get in. so, while i applaud your generous-minded-ness, i think it's best simply not to get involved. period.

hehhe
you misunderstood me, i was most definitely not calling you a liberal, i was being self-depreciating - my whiny question was taking an extreme opposite view from the one i hold.

i don't want to send troops to hati, or anywhere, as i said.

i was trying to underline the twofacedness of the admin, as i said - one cannot selectively defend liberty, if they are going to claim to defend it.

sorry if i was too vague.

Um, prolly mostly because we're already being blamed for their problems in the first place since we caused (*cough*initiated and supported*cough*) the coup that led them into being one of (if not THE) poorest nation in the world. Excluding Mississippi.

Oh, and they don't have any oil.

lkemme guess, it happened a week after the superbwol right? and everyone was so obsessed with janet's boob that it didn't make any coverage.
