but, if you pre-ordered the game, you got to be in the open beta, and you get "head start" time, which means you get to reserve a character name, as well as get to play for 3 days before the official launch.
it will get boring fast, it doesn't scale as well as most other long term mmorpg schemas i have seen, though the weekly event theme may offset that (ie, the way they are ending the beta is by having aliens invade and ill all the heroes, which is how the launch is going to kick off)
i would only be a bad guy if i was able to go from good to bad....then have one of my super hero friend die in trying to get me to change...then i see the light then turn to good again...but am not really trusted by anyone else for a very long time.
see that's *story* and *plot*.. you know, the good stuff.. yeah I could appreciate that.. my reason for a 'bad' guy? sort of the 'anti-hero' format appeals to me- you're jaded, you're not likely to do good for the sake of good, you just do good because no one else will, or you kill off the scum that killed your friend, doing good by happinstance.. my favourite 'heros' have always been the guy on the edge, the outcast or the loner- more story possibility that way ;)
i can dig it.....i too am a fan of those types...AKa batman...old-school wolverine...and even the punisher i had no intention of going the capt america route....just you wait and see.
I'm kinda excited about this game, and I generally dislike MMORPGs...I'm a big fan of actually roleplaying, and when you have an environment like Star Wars, or a fantasy based game, it completely kills the mood when people are standing around talking out of character.
But in a game set to modern times, that obvious sort of out of character talk will be kinda in character...and it will be easier for people to roleplay in the environment i think.
