for the first time in years, i missed the equinox.
i am so wrapped up in my changes and life i missed the bigger picture.
way to focus on the trees instead of the forest.

But the equinox is about things turning. And you're a day away from that. So you should celebrate it tomorrow. Or today I guess. It's more like the merging of the forest and the trees.

perhaps

i always try to pay attention to bigger cycles that are beyond the scope of my singularity on order to contextualize my existance. missing this, for me, means that i am focusing more on the singularity than the weave it is a part of, which is a very dangerous road to walk, imo.

I'm feeling that. It's pretty much why I give up things for Lent and celebrate easter, despite not being the religious type. Renewal, rebirth, cycles, spring, all that good stuff. On the other hand, maybe, right now, cutting yourself a bit of a break is not only called for but fucking mandatory, all things considered. Sometimes the trees overtake the forest, and that shit has to be ok too. I mean, if all the trees die, there ain't no forest left.

(this is me being philosophical, btw)

no, but i try to keep the more cyclical reminders/celebrations of the passage of time. the modern world has worked on eroding the importance of the seasons outside of daylight savings and sale of seasonal goods. our annual celebration for the passage of time is hardly a testament to aging and history, much more an excuse to get obliterated.

definitely not the end of the world, but just a tradition i keep myself which i ffed up last night.

frankly, life has a way of shitting on even the most simple of traditions.
